Example News Article: Getting Started with OZ News Net

This is an example news article to demonstrate the format you’ll use for all your journalism pieces. Simply copy this file, rename it, and replace the content with your actual article.

## How to Use This Template

When creating a new news article, follow these steps:

1. Copy this file to src/content/latest/your-article-name.md

2. Update the frontmatter (the section between the --- markers)

3. Write your article content below the frontmatter

4. Add your featured image to public/images/

5. Build and deploy your site

## Frontmatter Fields

The frontmatter contains important metadata about your article:

- **title**: Your article headline

- **description**: A brief summary (appears on cards and in SEO)

- **pubDate**: Publication date in YYYY-MM-DD format

- **author**: Your name or guest author name

- **category**: Must be “latest” for news articles

- **image**: Path to featured image (starts with /images/)

## Writing Your Article

You can use standard Markdown formatting in your articles:

### Headings Work Like This

Use ## for main headings and ### for subheadings.

**Bold text** and *italic text* are supported.

You can create lists:

- First point

- Second point

- Third point

Or numbered lists:

1. Step one

2. Step two

3. Step three

### Adding Links

Links work like this: [Link text](https://example.com)

### Adding Images Within Articles

To add images within your article content (not just the featured image):

## Publishing Your Article

Once you’ve written your article:

1. Save the file

2. Run npm run build in PowerShell

3. Run wrangler pages deploy dist --project-name=oznewsnet

4. Your article will be live in about 30 seconds

That’s it! Your article will automatically appear on the homepage and in the Latest section, sorted by publication date.
